The has announced a $1 million grant from the San Francisco-based in support of undergraduate research scholarships.
Part of the foundation's Koret University Partners program, the Koret Undergraduate Research Scholarships fund will provide $1,500 scholarships to fifty students in support of research projects in any discipline as well as limited funds for supplies, travel expenses, and stipends to faculty members and graduate students who mentor student projects. for the first round of scholarships will be accepted through November 30.
"Our goal is to make sure that these research opportunities are available to all students, whatever their background," said Jaye Padgett, the university's interim vice provost for student success. "When students are engaged in collaborative research, they are more likely to do well academically and graduate from college."
