The in Kansas City, Missouri, has announced a $10 million gift from an anonymous donor for a new student residence hall on campus.
The gift, which was made via the , will support planning for the residence hall, which will include a dining facility, studios for academic programs, and state-of-the-art technology and equipment upgrades to better accommodate contemporary design students. The current KCAI facility was constructed in 1963.
In 2015, the art school received a $25 million gift, also via GKCCF, in support of its endowment, campus improvements, student scholarships, endowed professorships, and visiting professors.
"We are humbled by this further outpouring of generosity and the confidence in KCAI that it demonstrates," said KCAI Nerman Family President Tony Jones. "As I consider the magnitude of this new gift and what it will do for our students, campus, and community, I am overwhelmed with gratitude to the anonymous donor and our friends at GKCCF."
