The in Oklahoma City has announced grants totaling $1.22 million to twenty journalism organizations around the country.
The grants will support projects in the areas of investigative reporting, Oklahoma journalism, professional development, and special opportunities. Recipients include , which was awarded $50,000 in support of its in-depth reporting on criminal justice, citizens who are poorly served by the system, and the policies that perpetuate inequities; and , which will receive $50,000 to launch, produce, promote, and expand a daily City Hall Radio program.
Other recipients include the at in New Jersey, which was awarded $50,000 to seed and support five collaborative journalism projects in Oklahoma City; the , which will receive $20,000 in support of its Leadership Academy for Women in Digital Media and the Leadership Academy for Diversity in Digital Journalism; and the , which was awarded $50,000 to examine effective strategies and products for building reader loyalty.
